Tommie Gunn Killed by Lawn Mower

Is that a bullet in your tank-top, or are you just happy to see me?
Assuming at least a little drop off, in "rock, scissors, paper, Tommie Gunn, lawn mower" lawn mower beats Tommie Gunn every time.

LAWTON, Okla. (AP) - Police say a man in his 80s has died after a lawn mower tipped over and rolled on top of him.

Police identified the victim of Tuesday's accident as Tommie Gunn. They say Gunn was riding on the lawn mower, cutting the grass along a creek bed, when the machine tipped over.

Police Lt. Alvin Winham told television station KSWO that it appears a ravine where Gunn was cutting grass included "a little bit of a drop off" and that likely caused the lawn mower to roll over.

It's My Kid's Party, ...

An alcohol-fueled brawl involving 75 people turned a toddler's birthday party into a nightmare.

Police in Hamilton County say the fight started between the birthday girl's father and her mother's boyfriend.

It quickly escalated into a melee, where police say broken beer bottles injured more than a dozen people at the Eagles Lodge in Elmwood Place.

Employee Jesse Ficke spent Tuesday cleaning up the mess.

"Anywhere you could think of there was blood and broken glass,” Ficke says. “We were told that there was one gentleman who stood in the back of the room, continued to throw bottles until he didn't have any more in front of him."

No Bones About It

This must've been mighty unpleasant for the victim.

A Kadoma man died in hospital last week after bone marrow from his leg was forcibly suctioned and stolen by four men...

"He felt like the leg was clipped with something before he was stabbed on the left leg," Insp Mabgweazara said.

Hali reportedly said he felt something sucking substance from deep inside his leg.

The substance, which is believed to be bone marrow, was placed in a bottle and the assailants drove off towards Kadoma, leaving Hali on the ground.

The attackers did not take anything else.

39 Percent of Children Ages 9 to 17 Said the Information They Found Online Was “Always Correct.”

But don't despair just yet. The good news is that:

Many children want to read books on digital devices and would read for fun more frequently if they could obtain e-books...

Milton Chen, a senior fellow at the George Lucas Educational Foundation, said the report made the case that children want to read on new digital platforms.

“The very same device that is used for socializing and texting and staying in touch with their friends can also be turned for another purpose,” Mr. Chen said. “That’s the hope.”

Keep on hoping, Mr. Chen. Lotsa luck with that.
